Saban's Power Rangers (Movie 2017) » Easter Eggs

*Spoiler Warning:

This list of Easter Eggs and the images contain *Spoilers! If you have not yet watched the Movie, please wait until after watching Before scrolling through this page.

*In the Opening scene, there is a formation that could resemble the original Megazord’s head from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

*Kimberly using Pink Scissors

*Could this female bully, the clothes and hair, be a reference to Skull from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?

*A newspaper refers to Jason as “Angel Grove’s Golden Boy”, which could be a reference to Jason becoming the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo.

*On a shelf in Billy’s home are the original toys of Squatt, Finster and Baboo from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

*Billy reaches through a water barrier where the five first discover the Command Center spaceship, which could be a reference to when the Rangers first enter the Power Chamber in Power Rangers Zeo after the original Command Center was destroyed.

*Billy mentions Iron Man and Spider-Man.

*When Trini is sitting with her family, a toy Putty Patrol action figure from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is seen on the table behind her.

*An Angel Grove High School’s tiger mascot logo is seen on the red truck used by Jason.

*In the scene where Jason and his father are talking about the red truck, Jason’s shirt says “From Bulk”.

*When Alpha 5 first takes the teenagers to The Pit to train, a scorpion is seen on a rock, which could be a reference to the villain Scorpina from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

*In detention, Kimberly and Jason pass a note around to Billy that says ‘We should start a band.’ This is a reference to Naomi Scott (Kimberly) being in the Disney Channel movie ‘Lemonade Mouth’ (2011) which is about kids in detention that start a band.

*When Rita destroys the Fenix jewelry store, a street sign is shown that says “Amber Beach”, which is the name of the city in Power Rangers Dino Charge. The sign above this one is hard to read but says “Silver Hills”, which is the name of the city in Power Rangers Time Force. (I discovered these two while I was creating this list of Easter Eggs.)

*Trini’s bedroom window in a deleted scene is shown to have a Sabertooth Tiger design.

*The five go to a boatyard by the docks, “where the dead ships live”, to kill Rita. This could be a reference to the Ghost Galleon ship in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.

*Shown in this screenshot of the Morph scene, Trini is wearing a shirt that says “1973”, which is the year Thuy Trang was born, the original Trini from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

*Rita says, “Make my monster grow!”

*The “Go Go Power Rangers” theme song that plays is from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

*Jason, the Red Ranger, mentions Bumblebee from Transformers.

*Jason’s father searches for him at the intersection of Mariner Bay and Reefside. Mariner Bay is the name of the city in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, and Reefside is the name of the city in Power Rangers Dino Thunder. (There is also a street sign that says “Ocean Bluff Drive”, but I wasn’t able to spot it in the movie as it may only be seen from behind-the-scenes or in the far distance. Ocean Bluff is the name of the city in Power Rangers Jungle Fury.)

*Kimberly says, “I’m burning!”, which could be a reference to Kimberly’s line in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie where she says, “I’m burning up in here!”

*As Rita freezes in space, the Moon is shown in the distance. This is a possible reference to the original Rita and her base on the moon in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

*Two of the civilians taking pictures of the Megazord at the end of the movie are actually Amy Jo Johnson (original Kimberly Hart) and Jason David Frank (original Tommy Oliver).

*The name ‘Nevin Swain’ in bold text on the newspaper is also the name of the Property Master of the Art department for the Movie. (I discovered this Easter Egg while I was working on the Zords page.)

*Trini’s brothers argue over which Ranger they want to be. She says to them that one of them should be the Yellow one. Not knowing that the Yellow Ranger is female, one of them says that “he” is cool. So Trini asks them, “How do you know it’s a he?” This is possibly a reference to the Yellow Ranger being male in the original Japanese version (Super Sentai) of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger).

*On Trini’s wall is a picture of an owl. This is possibly a reference to Circuit from Power Rangers Time Force. A tilted blurry photo directly above the owl is also on the wall. Could this blurry photo be of the Silver Guardians from Power Rangers Time Force?

*The name “Tommy Oliver” is called out in detention in the mid-credits scene for a possible sequel.

*The song “Give It All” that plays during the end credits is a remix of Snap! – “The Power” which was used in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

*The Angel Grove High logo is the same one used in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

*In The Official Movie Novel, Jason brings a bull into the ‘Montgomery’ High locker room. The actor’s name who plays Jason is ‘Dacre Montgomery’.

*In The Official Movie Novel, Rita says “I have a headache” (page 109). In Power Rangers Mad Libs, she says “waking up after … million years gives me such a/an headache”. These are references to Rita in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

*Note: Krispy Kreme was NOT put in the movie for product placement, it is simply just a part of the story. They needed to come up with a place for where the Zeo Crystal was going to be buried.
